Great Britain. Shilling, 1821
Great Britain. Shilling, 1821. S.3810; ESC-1247; KM-679. George IV, 1820-1830. Obverse: Laureate bust of King left. Reverse: Crowned garnished shield with thistle, shamrock and rose. Darkly toned in shades of magenta and aquamarine, this is a crisply produced coin - probably one of the first from the dies - with a wealth of intricate detail. Minor cleaning beneath a deeply multi toned coin. An excellent example, from the first year of George IV's coinage. Almost Uncirculated to Uncirculated.
