<B>Queen Anne Sixpence 1703-VIGO,</B></I> S-3590, MS63 NGC, a luxurious coin having a crisp strike and especially beautiful mauve and deep blue iridescent toning, jumbo denticles on the obverse and wide rims (without much in the way of denticles) on the reverse. The fields are nearly flawless. Anne's portrait is medallic in sharpness, and the reverse shield detailed in depth. This cataloguer has looked at countless British coins over the past 30 years, and cannot recall ever seeing a finer Vigo sixpence. Catalogue valuation is fairly modest (about $650 in XF grade) but a coin of this caliber is difficult to estimate in value. We sold an Anne Vigo shilling, virtually MS but gorgeous, not long ago at auction for nearly $5,000.
