Great Britain: Queen Anne Shilling, 1708. S-3610
Queen Anne Shilling 1708, S-3610, 3rd Bust combined with the "plain reverse" (no plumes in the open spaces among the shield's cruciforms). This date is seen more often than others of this reign, yet it is very scarce above the XF grade level (the best grade normally seen in England). Here is a truly delightful example! It has the sharpness of the last piece but is completely original. Very Choice Uncirculated, nary a tiny mark of any kind, sharply struck with high rims on both sides and excellent detail in both the queen's portrait and on the reverse shield, with evident luster beneath pleasing, medium golden gray iridescent toning. A delightful memento from this peaceful and luxuriant reign of one of England's outstanding female monarchs. Spink value guide prices this at $375 (about $750) just in XF grade. This coin, by rights, should be worth twice that for its exceptional quality, but the bidders will decide.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
