Great Britain. Medal, 1879. Eimer-1662; BHM-3052. Silver. 64 mm. 154.9 grams. by J.S. and A.B. Wyon. Celebrating the wedding of the Duke of Connaught (son of Queen Victoria) and Princess Louise of Prussia. Obverse: Conjoined busts. Reverse: Crowned arms on wreaths of oak and rosemary. Nicely toned. NGC graded AU-58. .

*Queen Victoria had nine children. Victoria Adelaide the Princess Royal (born 1840) only lived until 1901, the year of her mother's death. Edward (born 1841) became King in 1901 and died in 1910. Arthur, Duke of Connaught (born 1850) survived until 1942.
This interesting trio of medals illustrates the fact that the British Royal family is related to many European monarchies because of the marriages of Victoria's children.
