<B>George IV Half Sovereign 1824,</B></I> S-3803, Laureate Head, Square Shield reverse, MS65 NGC, a beauty from our sale #397 of January 2006, Lot 13632, where we called it Gem Uncirculated and surmised that it could slab as MS65, and now it has. It is almost fully struck except for the central portion of the shield, with beautiful surfaces graced by old-time, well-set delicate gold toning. This is a rare type in high grade, a rare date too, and probably as fine as has been auctioned in many years.
