George III or IV era trial piece from Norweb: a trial strike or splash in lead featuring Pistrucci's St George slaying the dragon motif, with groundline, the horseman holding a sword (not a spear), thus probably related to the gold £2 pattern of 1820 or the gold £2 coin of 1823. A choice piece showing much original color, the reverse blank. Ex Norweb sale #4, Spink sale 59, lot 1642, of June 1987, with the original Norweb Collection envelope noting it came to them from the Brand Collection (Norweb inventory item 18187). An interesting and very rare piece of British numismatic history.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
