Edward IV (Second Reign of 1471-83) hand-engraved, shilling-sized token commemorating his death. Intricate detail of the king, standing and holding sword and shield, a lion clinging to each side of an oval cartouche surrounding him, engraved with a legend recognizing his passing. Reverse is equally revealing, "reigned" spelled wrong yet carefully and skillfully engraved, as shown in our illustrations. Possibly 17th century in origin. Curious and desirable. Our estimate is a sheer guess, for once sold how could it be replaced? A lovely memento.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
