Early Norman pennies. A neat little collection consisting of the following: Henry I (1100-35), S-1276, Fine or so, wavy and cracked, discolored a bit but rare; Henry II (1154-89), nearly Fine and light gray; John (1199-1216), a little porous but the portrait is pleasing and the color a nice gray; Henry III (1216-72), long-cross style, VF or nicer, pleasing gray surfaces and well struck for type; another of the same, big scratch but nice face; Edward I (1307-27), "longshanks," as the owner noted he was the "hammer of the Scots" (remember him from the film Braveheart), Fine with a decent appearance; another, a bit rough, less than Fine; and lastly Edward II (1307-27), Canterbury mint, long-cross type, nearly Fine but quite legible. Historic group!
