Great Britain Charles II gold Broad 1662,
Charles II gold Broad 1662, milled, dies by Thomas Simon, MS61 NGC (as KM-Pn32 pattern), Schneider-422 for type but with 9 leaves and 3 berries (only 1 clear), small sideways "S" beneath bust; often called a pattern but recent research has determined that these were made for commerce just prior to the introduction of the Guinea series. This specimen: still lustrous, adjustments across the king's flowing periwig and the left lower and right obverse denticles, the portrait otherwise quite detailed, obverse fields almost flawless; reverse from worn die showing dotty rust (same as seen on the Schneider plate coin), denticles poorly impressed, crown sharp but right top quadrant of shield a bit soft on the lion, the fields not so lustrous as on the other side. Fairly rare, and this condition is exceptional compared to most that appear on the market.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
