<B>Grant and Colfax: A Rare Cloth Campaign Flag on Its Original Stick.</B></I> Campaign flags are among the most desired of 19th century campaign items, owing to their colorful display appeal and rarity. This particular variety is one we have not seen before until a non-hobbyist consigned two examples which had come down through his family. While this style bears a close resemblance to a couple of varieties pictured in <I>Threads Of History,</B></I> this particular design is unrecorded. We offered one example in our recent Civil War auction, where it fetched $5,078.00.
