Grand Cross of the Order of the German Eagle
Introduced in 1937, the Order of the German Eagle was made expressly for presentation to foreign nationals as a token of esteem and respect. Made in multiple grades, recipients included several world leaders, the Chairman of IBM, Henry Ford and Charles Lindbergh. At the center of the design is a white enamel filled Maltese cross, with a white enamel accented German Eagle with swastika between each arm, and backed by an 8-pointed radiant starburst. The back of the pin arm is marked "900 21", indicating post-1943 production by the Berlin firm of Godet.
