Grand Cross of the Order of the German Eagle with Swords
Introduced in 1937, the Order of the German Eagle was made expressly for presentation to foreign nationals as a token of esteem and respect. Made in multiple grades, the crossed swords variant was intended specifically for issue to military personnel. At the center of the design is a pair of swords atop a white enamel filled Maltese cross, with a white enamel accented German Eagle with swastika between each arm, and backed by an 6-pointed radiant starburst. The back of the pin arm is marked "900 21", indicating post-1943 production by the Berlin firm of Godet.
