German engineer (1838–1917) who designed the famous rigid airship that bears his name. ALS in German, signed “Gf. Zeppelin,” on a 5.5 x 3.5 picture postcard of a zeppelin, September 9, 1909. Brief letter to Miss Edith Leiner in Konstanz. In full (translated): “Many thanks for your flowers, whose language my heart has totally understood.” In very good condition, with a vertical crease through a few letters of text and initial of signature, surface loss along right edge, and a bit of scattered light soiling.
