Extremely rare assay note from the famous Gould & Curry Scale, No. 17. It indicates 5 loads of gold and silver ore received, destined for the stamp mill (name illegible) and signed by the "Teamster" and the "Weigher." The card measures 3.5"x2.5". The Gould & Curry was one of the most productive and well known mines on the Comstock producing gold silver from its time of incorporation on June 27th, 1860 well into the 1870s and later. Alpheus Bull, along with George Hurst and John Mackay, made his fortune on the Comstock beginning with the Gould & Curry. (The History of the Comstock Lode, 1850-1997, by Grant Horace Smith, Joseph V. Tingley). - HKA#65132
