This amazing grouping contains a Gorman diving helmet, a pair of Heinke's brass sand shoes, Shrader's and Sons weight belt, a diving suit, and a Schrader's Diving Air Pump. The Siebe Gorman copper and brass 12 Bolt diving helmet has seen alot of use! It has working dents, a wonderful patina, a circular front port with threaded plate and oval ports to either side. All of the glass is present and is not cracked. It has a very nice, early, name plate that reads "Siebe Gorman & Co Submarine Engineers, London". The helmet is serial numbered 13230 and the breast plate is numbered 5817. The transceiver was removed and the hole patched. There is very little tinning left. The breast plate straps/brails and wing nuts are not present. There is a dent on the left side which has put a separation between the porthole and helmet. The top has been patched and still used after because there are working dents on the patch. There is a small hole in the patch. The locking pin and mount is missing. The Heinke's brass sand shoes are marked "Heinke's 87 Granger Bermondse London, Patent", manufactured by C.E. Heinke's. They are of heavy construction with riveted leather uppers and double straps with buckles. The left shoe's top strap is broken, right shoe is missing a rivet at the front. The leather is supple, but showing its age. Each shoe measures 7"H X 13"L. The double buckle Shrader's and Sons weight belt has 6 lead weights. The leather is still supple. The belt measures 56"L. The porthole stand measures 45 1/2"H. Each weight is marked Shrader's and Sons Brooklyn New York. The diving suit is marked "42". It is still supple and measures 64"H X 29"W. It hangs on a wooden rack for display. The Schrader's Diving Air Pump is an early, 3 cylinder rotary pump, dated January 16, 1919, serial number 0774, has a fantastic patina on the wood and fittings, definitely been used, has both of its cranks and flywheels, measures 43 1/2"H, X 61"W X 31"H, interior and iron parts have recently been painted.
