ALS signed “G. W. Lillie,” one page, 8.5 x 11, The Buffalo Refining Company letterhead, September 12, 1922. Letter to silent movie cowboy Charles ‘Chuck’ Haas. In part: “I saw Knut who took and has the negative of the opening and Rush into Okla…He tells me this was…on the 10th anniversary of the opening and all the participants in the rush—was the people who had made the rush in the original rush in 89…Now Haas what ever publicity we get should be done before the news gets out we are going in pictures.” In fine condition, with some irregular ink adhesion throughout the text. Lillie is discussing the Oklahoma Land Rush of 1889, which was the first land rush into the ‘Unassigned Lands’ of the United States.
