This is a scarcely seen very rare original Helena, Montana Advertising stoneware jug from the late 1800's. The bottom is not marked, but is an original ceramic stoneware Red Wing Union Stoneware jug. Marked, "From Goodkind Bros. Wholesale Wines Liquors And Cigars Helena, - Mont." The piece is in very good condition with no visible cracks and only one under 1/4" chip. The Goodkind Bros. and Building at Sixth and Main, Since 1884 in Helena, Montana. The Goodkind Bros. Building is one of Helena's great pieces of deep history and was created by Architect Francis Dickson Lee (1826-1885) who was also a developer of Confederate torpedo boats and spar torpedos during the Civil War. The jug selling in this lot is one of the finest and only available for sale and shows the crisp advertising seal from the company across the front. Measures 6" in diameter and 8.75" tall.
