Good quality Germanic flintlock pistol circa 18th century with grooved brass and gilded mounts signed “Mueller” with “Halberstadt” marked beneath the frizzen on the edge. The pistol measures 14 ½” overall with 8 ½” barrel of approximately .54caliber smoothbore. The metal surfaces show some light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting most of which would clean. The original horn tip ramrod and forend cap are retained. The stock shows a nice burl to the wood and is in good tovery good condition with some small losses, slight scratches and normal aging. The pistol is in its original flintlock configuration with correct hammer, frizzen and small parts. The action is not working and the mainspring has either becomedetached or is broken. A very attractive Germanic pistol that we would date about 1760. Est.: $800-$1600
