Good quality English made percussion Cape gun by Pryce and Redman, 250 Piccadilly, London”. The gun is bored approx. .70 caliber smooth (right) or 12ga, and .52 caliber rifled left. The gun is of large proportions, and measures 46-1/2” overall with 30-1/8” heavy barrels which show a large raised central rib which is mounted with three folding leaf rear sights, and engraved graduations from sights to muzzle, numbered“4” through “20”. The gun is nicely signed on both locks under the barrels and is also well engraved with portrait of stag on patchbox. The stock and metal show old refinish, and the wood has also beenrefinished and the checkering re-cut. The gun shows serial #7531, locks are working well, bores are at least good and may clean to very good. The gun weighs approx. 10.4lbs, and includes period rod. There is some slightdamage to the forward finial which receives the ramrod. The old English case which has been refinished and relined accompanies the gun may be original, and some information in South African German is included attesting to
