Lot of 6 pieces. Four are stock certificates signed by Charles S. Sprague. Sprague was a newspaper man in Colorado before coming to Goldfield in 1905. He leased the Goldfield News and became editor and manager of the Goldfield Publishing Company in 1906. He also served as president of the Goldfield Chamber of Commerce, served as state bank commissioner, unsuccessfully ran for Congress in 1910, and began a successful mine brokerage business in 1912. He was known as the "largest individual property owner in Goldfield." 1) Nevada Co-Operative Mining Company. Three items: stock issued in 1914, signed by Sprague as president, not cancelled. Folds. Plus a typed two-page message from Sprague to stockholders of the company, May 25, 1923, with cover. 2) Jumbo Copper Mountain Mining Company stock certificate No. 10600, issued for 100 shares in 1918. Signed by Sprague as president. Not cancelled. Ornate green border. Deep folds. 3) Frontier Development Company stock certificate No. 85, issued for 100 shares in 1911.
