An Edwardian period bar brooch (circa 1901-1910) - a souvenir of New Zealand, made in New Zealand greenstone (nephrite jade), with gold end cappings and the initials NZ. (Greenstone or jade is a sacred stone to the New Zealand Maori people). Both end caps have chased engraving on them, and are hallmarked as 9ct gold (very popular in Victorian and Edwardian times).
Brooch measures 5.2 cm long by 1.2 cm deep. Greenstone is bevelled. Excellent condition.
