Spectacular high quality, gold quartz, gold and silver cane by renowned engraving artist Jim Sornberger of Volcano, California. This cane has a gold and silver head. The silver around the sides contains classic California gold rush scenes with miners, Indians, the California state seal with the California bear and a shield to be used for engraving the owner's name.. It measures 2" tall by 1.5" in diameter. The top(and bottom ring) are 14kt gold inlaid with beautiful gold quartz, probably from the Sonora, California region. The head alone weighs 6.7 troy ounces! This is a prize for any gold rush collector. Sornberger is well known for his engravings on bowie knives, other knives, guns and other classic western items. This cane took a year to make and was completed about 15 years ago. It is one of only two made. Body of cane is dark hardwood with gold tip, approx. 35.5” overall; The cane is in overall very good condition and the gold quartz piece is fine. City: State: United States Date: hwac# 36119
