Very rare undertaking bill measuring 7 1/2" x 4" and written on purple/blue paper. County of Siskiyou. To William Hovey. The bill is for two services: 1) digging one grave (ordered by the hospital) for "Negro black man"; and 2) digging one grave and making a coffin for ______ Newton. Third service has been crossed out. Bill totals $43. Reverse has notations indicating this bill was issued on Feb 3, 1858 by F.A. Rogers (clerk) and Pollurd (deputy).
