Gupta Dynasty, Samudragupta (335-370 AD), Gold Dinar, ArcherType, Obv:king facing to the left,holding an Indian long bow in the left hand and arrow in his right hand, standing and sacrificing before an altar, behind the altar is agarudaheaded standwith brahmi legend"samudra", Rev: goddess lakshmi shown seated on a bench with a pillow with lathe carved legs and holding a cornucopia in left hand and diadem in right hand, royal tamgha at left with brahmi legend "apratiratah",7.65g, 20.35mm, (BMC Pl IV - 1), about very fine, Rare.The archer type of Gupta coins became prototype in the Gupta coinage but of Samudragupta is relatively rare though he invented them.
