Finely engraved frontispiece of the author; (12), 442 pages; title printed in red and black; woodcut headpiece and initial; copperplate engravings of ancient Roman coins in the text, some full-page, many of excellent quality; folding genealogical plate; folding engraved plate depicting both sides of 5 Roman portrait coins. Fore-edge untrimmed; moderate internal wear with no real problems. Near fine. A charming and well-illustrated work. While in a modern binding, untrimmed copies are rarely seen. Banduri 217.
