Godzilla R/C Model
A true collector’s item! In 1954 Japan’s Toho Films started a whole new genre of motion pictures when director Ishiro Honda created the original “Godzilla”. The film exploded at the US box office two years later (originally made for $100,000 and grossing in the millions after the US release) retiled “Godzilla, King of the Monster”, with extra scenes added with “Perry Mason’s” Raymond Burr (playing a reporter named Steve Martin!) by American director Terry Morse, and the whole thing dubbed into English. Of course the whole subject matter was a reaction to Japan’s continued sense of fear and paranoia after the not long before Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and in fact this Godzilla is created after the American’s do some atomic testing near the habitat of an amphibious creature, who, radiated by the bomb, becomes a monster of 164 Feet and 20,000 Tons. And saddled with one hell of a temper, and a real desire to crush buildings and kill everything moving in his path. A plethora of merchandise followed, but none so sophisticated and elaborate as the life-like mechanical models created by the Tokyo Marui Co. This radio controlled “Godzilla” is a rare find indeed. In perfect condition, it is made to 100th scale of the original utilizing “Real Touch” special soft vinyl chloride “skin”. It comes with an elaborately designed electronic mechanical “skeleton” that placed under the form creates numerous realistic movements and sounds. Complete with a remote control, this Godzilla can swing his arms while walking forward; turn left; turn right; wave its fierce head; swinging its tail, and opening its teeth-laden mouth and with speakers in the frame that let out with the “official” Godzilla roar! Like new in the original box with all accessories, this is a true collector’s item! (measures 20”x9”x26”). Note: Manual is in Japanese but there are “Ikea” like illustrations to easily explain the remote functions. (Batteries not included)
