For your consideration is this Globe-Wernicke Co. quarter sawn oak Barrister Cabinet. The Globe-Wernicke Company was formed as a result of the Cincinnati based Globe Files Company (est. in 1882) purchasing the Minneapolis based Wernicke Company, founded in 1893 by Otto Wernicke, in 1899. The company is best known for their high-end bookcases, desks, and other office furniture. This Barrister is in pristine display condition showing little damage to the cabinet and the carpentry and design is of the highest value. This is a six section barrister with eight total pieces including the crown and the base of the cabinet. This cabinet consists of three section 308 pieces and two section 310 pieces along with a unmarked section. The barrister is constructed from quarter sawn oak, furnished with a brownish dark wax finish, and has dull brush finished brass hardware. Additionally, all sections still have their original paper label. This Globe-Wernicke sectional barrister bookcase is in wonderful condition exhibiting a light patina indicative of age, it's retains its original glass and internals. With regularity, these bookcases appear in auctions and internet sites and, what originally cost $75 in the early 1900's, will now be sold for $1000 or more. The cabinet measures
