Nobel Prize–winning chemist (1912–1999) who was instrumental in the discovery of several elements. Element 106, Seaborgium, was named in his honor in 1994, the first such distinction ever bestowed upon a living person. Third-person handwritten autobiographical paragraph, in ink, on a one-page 8.5 x 11 lined yellow sheet of paper. In part: “Professor Seaborg is a pioneer investogator [sic] in nuclear chemistry, a field in which he has conducted research for nearly fifty years. Many of the more than 100 radioactive isotops that he and his coworkers have discovered have found widespread practical applications in medicine, agriculture, industry and space exploration. He is the co-diicoverer of ten transuranium elements and the author of the ‘actinide’ concept.” The page contains several revisions and edits by Seaborg. In fine condition, with light handling wear and a missing lower left corner not affecting text. Outstanding scientific content!
