This auction sale catalog includes numismatic material primarily from China, Europe, the United States, Latin America and other foreign countries. The collection of Chinese coins was formerly the property of Mr. A.V. Corsino of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and is one of the most comprehensive collections of these coins in the world. The gold bars from California are hitherto unrecorded from two documented mines, full details of which appear in this catalogue. All 16 bars are plated. The large Swiss gold medal of Berne is unpublished in gold and is illustrated separately at the beginning of this catalogue. The American section includes a good range of gold coins, and in the silver special mention should be made of the 1796 quarter-dollar, the 1820 quarter-dollar, the 1820 quarter-dollar, the 1796 ten-cents, and the 1795 five-cents, all of which are in choice condition.
