Glendining & Co. CATALOGUE OF GOLD AND SILVER COINS OF THE WORLD INCLUDING AN EXTENSIVE SERIES OF COINS OF SOUTH AMERICA AND CHOICE COINS OF EUROPE AND ASIA. November 22-23, 1972. 1-1054 lots. This auction sale catalog includes numismatic material from Latin America, Europe, Asia, and other foreign countries. Of particular interest are the ten 18th Century gold bullion bars from Mexico City. The strongest sections of the sale are the various groups of coins of South America, beginning with a collection of gold coins of Chile. In all there are 300 lots of gold coins from the Americas. The silver coins of the Americas are almost as extensive as they include several major rarities and also one of the most comprehensive selections of silver cobs of the mint of Potosi to appear. Another point of interest is a small but interesting group of Latin American medals and decorations. The gold and silver coins of Europe and Asia are of above average quality and the collection of Russian coins is comparable to the Michele Baranowsky Collection. London. Illustrated and Priced catalogs. original green printed card covers. Fine. Crown 4to. (6) 80 pages. 40 plates. Lot weight: 1 lbs 0oz. Subject(s): Latin American, European, Asian, World Coinage.
