Featured in this lot is this ceramic platter called "Horse Dreamer," circa 2001 from Cree/ Chippewa artist Glen La Fontaine born in 1947. The platter features a wonderfully and professionally crafted ceramic construction that features a spirit horse with blue glaze jumping through the night with a moon above the horse. The platter as follows: La Fontaine - 1-12-2001 - Horse Dreamer. The platter features its original identification tag on the underside of the platter. Glen LaFontaine is a Native American artist who is a member of the Cree/ Chippewa Indian Nation. He was born in Seattle and studied at the Institute of American Indian Arts (1968-1970) as well as the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence (1970-1973). The condition of this ceramic plate is good with a hairline fracture fissuring down the rim of the plate towards the center but otherwise shows good overall condition. The measurements of this ceramic plate is 2" x 11 5/8" x 11 3/4". Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and acquired by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman which was both part museum and gallery.
