Glashütter Uhrenbetriebe

The foundation of Glashütter Uhrenmanufaktur dates back to 1845. Ferdinand Adolf Lange established one of the first watchmakers in Müglitztal, Saxony. After World War II a quickly growing and flourishing watch making industry started to produce a vast variety of different timepieces. In 1951, all independent watch manufacturers were united in order to meet the demand of the GDR. The company kept producing various watches until 2000. (cko)
