Italian composer (1813–1901) who was one of the most influential figures in the history of opera. AMQS on an off-white 3.75 x 3 card. Verdi pens two bars of music and lyrics from Falstaff, writing the opera’s name at the top, and adding the lyrics, “Tutto nel monde e burla et.” Signed at the bottom, “G. Verdi, Gènes, 17 April 1895.” In fine condition, with a uniform shade of light toning, a bit of scattered light soiling, and mounting remnants to reverse. A scarce and highly-desirable quotation from the maestro’s last opera.
