This ceramic statue by Giuseppe Armani portrays a boy from around the 19th century, as he walks along with a basket and white dove. We do not know the title of this piece, but it looks like it could be a character from Tom Sawyer. That time period is certainly conveyed through the boy's clothing. We also do not know the age, but given the look of the piece, and the presence of the large base, we believe it dates from around the 1960's or 70's. The underside is stamped with a gold N with crown. The back of the piece has the N with crown, plus the artist's initials. The size measures 20" tall and 10" wide, including the 7 1/2" diameter brass trimmed porcelain base. It's condition very good, and has only maybe a few minor chips. Some of those include the end of some strands of hair broken at the tip, and there might be some worn portions on the dove's left wing. There are a few other spots so light it is difficult to say whether or not they are tiny chips or just the natural edge. It could use a light cleaning overall.
This is a wonderful piece by the legendary Italian maker.

Buyer's Premium: A buyer's premium will be in effect for all auction sales and shall be added to each purchase to reach the total sales price. Although obtained from sources deemed reliable, the Seller and Auctioneer make no warranty or guarantee to the accuracy of the information contained in any auction listing. 13. Entire Agreement; Waiver. This Agreement, including the Universal’s User Agreement and all exhibits and other documents are incorporated herein by reference, set forth the entire understanding and agreement of the parties and supersede any and all other written or oral agreements or understandings between the parties as to the subject matter of this Agreement. In the event of an inconsistency between this Agreement and any other document, which is part of this Agreement, the terms of this Agreement shall govern. From time to time during the term of this Agreement, Universal Collectibles, Universal B&I or Universal Live Auctions may amend this Agreement (including any incorporated documents) by posting the amended terms on any Universal site, emailing notice of the amendment to the Buyer, or otherwise communicating such amendment to the Buyer. Each amendment will be effective immediately after it is initially posted on any Universal site, emailed to the Buyer, or otherwise communicated to the Buyer. The waiver of a breach of any provision of this Agreement will not operate or be interpreted as a waiver of any other or subsequent breach.
