Plate #37 "Study of a Cossack's Head", perhaps connected with Tiepolo's commission to paint the ceiling of the staircase in the residence of the Prince-Bishop of Wurzburg with the Four Quarters of the Globe. The original was drawn with the brush with rather dry brown pigment. A somewhat similar study, with the addition of crimson color is in the British Museum.
