Important Italian composer (1792–1868) who became one of the seminal figures in the history of opera with such repertoire staples as The Barber of Seville and William Tell. AMQS on an off-white 4 x 2.25 card, Rossini pens four intricate measures from a late waltz for piano marked Mo[dera]to, signed and inscribed in ink, “A Madlle. Pauline Granville, G. Rossini, Kissingen, le 23 Aout 1856.” Matted to an overall size of 9.5 x 8. A touch of mild soiling, otherwise fine condition.
