(DC, 1969).</B></I> This set of three pages is from the classic giant-sized issue of <B>Batman,</B></I> which featured a new origin of Batman written by E. Nelson Bridwell. Gil Kane was really beginning to refine his style at this point in his career and these pages are full of those trademark elements. No one could portray conviction from a hero like Gil Kane. The iconic graveyard vow made by the young Bruce Wayne on page 9 is as powerful as has ever been rendered. The tear stained face of the woman who is narrating the story in the last panel of page 10 is another trademark image that evokes a poignant sorrow that few artists have been able to convey. These pages measure 11.5" x 17.5". They have been cropped at the corners and have hole punches in all four corners but all of these defects are in the margin areas. Otherwise, they are nice clean pieces with only moderate white-out. <B>Estimate: $900-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium.
