But poor distribution sank the project, and the second issue was never published or completed. This penciled and partially inked page would have been the splash and contents page for that issue. It features the title character fighting off hungry buzzards in a classic Kane pose of heroism against the odds. Smaller panels, including one detailed close-up, also showcase the beleaguered hero. This is not only vintage Gil Kane but an opportunity to own a little-seen piece of comics history. The printable area is 13" x 18" on a 15" x 20" page, with Kane's art accounting for 13" x 10". There is slight glue discoloration showing through the pasted up indicia. <B>Estimate: $800-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment.
