Warren G. Harding Scarce Autograph Letter -- Turning Down a Good Time! Autograph Letter Signed, as Senator, 1 page, on the letterhead of the United States Senate, Washington, June 6, 1917; to Connecticut Senator Frank Brandegee, a member of Harding's informal drinking and claver club, the "Little Mothers", which met, convivially, after work in the lower rooms of the Hotel Bon Ton. In Very Fine condition. With typical bonhomie, Harding pens this rare letter to his brother "Little Mother." In full: "I would rejoice to be your luncheon guest speaker next Sunday, June 10th, because it is easy to anticipate a bully good time, but I find myself tied up by the coming of family guests to whom I am committed for that day. You will therefore have to strike my name from the list, for which I am very selfishly sorry." From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
