Two-time Pulitzer Prize–winning Italian American composer (1911–2007) best known for such popular operas as The Consul, The Saint of Bleecker Street, and Amahl and the Night Visitors. In 1977, he founded the Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, South Carolina, is one of the world's major performing arts festivals. Vintage glossy 7.25 x 8.75 photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “For Sylvia Rosenberg, the Olympian custodian of American composers—with warmest greetings—Gian Carlo Menotti.” In very good condition, with trimmed edges, scattered creases and surface marks, and toning along right edge.
