Interesting ALS in German, Italian, and French, signed “Giacomo,” one page both sides, 6.25 x 9, Torre del Lago letterhead, May 4, 1921. Letter to his lover, the German soprano Rose Ader. He says that if only he could write in her language, how many things he would tell her. He does not forget her for an instant. In part (translated): "I have in my eyes that golden vision. You know what I mean to say. The revelation of yourself in that sweet afternoon in Venice I shall never be able to forget. I knew you in all your perfection." He asks what she means when she says the Milan plan is impossible—does it mean she will not come in September or October? Is it the end of everything? He needs her love, and begs her to write to him. In fine condition. During this period, Puccini was working on his last opera, Turandot, which he was never able to finish.
