<B>Gertrude Lawrence Sends Best Wishes for 1934</B></I> in this Autograph Note Signed "<I>Gertie</B></I>" on a Christmas (1933) card to Clifton and Mabelle Webb. The card is 5.5" x 7.5" (folded) and has an image on the front of Lawrence from <I>Nymph Errant,</B></I> the play she was then performing in London. Lawrence starts out: "<I>Darlings. 1934 eh? Well it better be better. Longing to get over to see yez all again, but show still going big here...</B></I>" Lawrence was a star actress and musical performer in the 1930s and 1940s in London and on Broadway with an occasional film role. She inspired some of the great writers of the day to write for her such as the Gershwins' <I>Oh, Kay!,</B></I> Noel Coward's <I>Private Lives</B></I> and the above-mentioned <I>Nymph Errant</B></I> by Porter.
