Geronimo (June 16, 1829 – February 17, 1909) Geronimo signed 2.25 x 4.5 cut paper in black ink. His block style letter signature is unique in its style and character forms. Geronimo was a major attraction at Fairs and Exhibitions in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Although he refused to adopt to the lifestyle of the white man, he seemed enjoy "performing" for mesmerized audiences. Accompanied by a retinue of Apache men, women, and children, he formed official exhibitions at several major expositions. There he entertained crowds with singing and dancing, demonstrated the craft of making bows and arrows, and of would sell his autographs. This item has been professionally custom matted and framed.
