Germanic Jousting Helm in the Style of the 15th Century

This helm is composed of four main pieces which are very large with only a narrow slit across the upper part (below this the face guard protected in a sharp ridge to deflect the lance). These pieces are riveted together with large decorative brass rivets. There is one rolled joint at the rear. The top piece has ridges embossed with a short central comb. There are various small holes and slots for attaching the interior padding. There is a large hinge at the front and a smaller hinge at the back for attachment to the back and breast plate. There are large "U" shaped rings at the bottom of each side for attaching the pauldrons or arm defenses. With a wooden stand.
