Germanic Flintlock Horseman's pistol circa 1760-1790 with brass mountings in good condition. The pistol measures approx 18" overall with 12" barrel of approx. 64 caliber smooth bore. The pistol shows plain brassmounts and there was an attachment lug at the rear top of butt cap for a shoulder stock which has been filled with a faux jewel. The stock shows some incise carving particularly around the tang. Stock showssome light refinishing and small restorations. The pistol retains original small parts and is in its original Flintlock state. There is a brass museum tag fixed to the left of the stock with #818. There is asignature on the barrel but we cannot read it. A horn tip ramrod is included, generally good overall. Est.;$1,400-$2,800.
