German military wall-gun showing Amberg 1837 date with crown on lock. 42-1/2” overall, 27-3/4” heavy octagon barrel, showing approx. .78 caliber bore that is rifled and barrel measures 1-1/2” across the flats. The rifleshows a dark grey to brown patina finish, scattered erosion and surface pitting and heaviest pitting on the forward half of the barrel. The lock is nicely marked, the gun is fit with set triggers that are working,shows an iron rear sight which is marked “300”. There are proofs on the breech and a number on left breech, “1-0011”. The gun shows a removable patchbox and sling swivels, the stock is of light color showing someslight scorching, minor losses, fair to good. There is an “N” inspector’s mark with fancy initial behind the triggerguard. The rifle weighs approx. 22.5 lbs. An interesting military arm that would have thrown agigantic projectile.
