Fully 90% of the album is of life in this town supplemented with photos of vacation runs to Shasta Springs. The albums date from 1900-1910 period. Photos show scattered town buildings in what must be the early stages of this flat land town including the railroad station, church, livery, and other businesses. The town was renamed Artois in 1918.
