German Surrender Account
“Winners will be notified after the auction ends and once all bids have been processed to determine the winner for each lot”
Photojournalist Ralph Morse cabled this typewritten account of the May 7 Nazi surrender from Reims, France, to ''Time'' Magazine on 10 May 1945. Morse, at Allied headquarters when surrender documents were signed, reports in part: ''…The colonel of the war room entered. All he said was: 'Fellows, this is it.'…About 2:30 a.m. the generals started filing in…The actual signing was to take place in front of us.'' Six 8.5'' x 11'' pages are stapled in upper left corner and have been folded. Light toning and soiling, else very good condition.
