German Police Rework Model 1908 Luger with WWI Leather Holster
This is a good example of a Model 1908 Commercial Luger that was reworked into a police model after the Versailles treaty in 1920. It is a standard 1908 Luger without the stock lug that was reworked by the addition of the small sear safety on top of the side plate and the hold open device. This Luger has the standard commercial Crown proofs with a blank chamber area with the toggle assembly marked "DWM", no other proofs. The grip strap has a unit marking of "G.K.59" (stamped on both front and rear grip strap) and it is fitted with an aluminum base nickel plated magazine with an unmarked brown leather holster.
BBL: 4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue/straw colors
Grips: walnut checkered
Serial Number: 52546

Arsenal reworked, with approximately 85-90% of the faded blue finish with wear on the edges and high spots overall with more wear on the front frame rails, side plate hump with some light thinning on the grip straps. The walnut grips show wear on the front and rear edges of the grips. Traces of the straw colors remain. The holster is in very good condition overall with nice supple leather showing some softer spots in places with intact stitching with one belt loop having been replaced with the initials "TK" and a German Swastika carved on the back side.
