German Model 38 paratrooper helmet for Luftwaffe brought home by as a souvenir by Cpl. James H. Oaks. This model 1938 helmet commemorates the service of James Oaks in the European theater of operations. This veteran wrote his name and rank on the front of the helmet, and around the helmet he mapped his entire journey through the 2nd world war. Cpl. Oaks started at Camp Pickett, Virginia and he meticulously mapped his service. A red swastika is painted on the back of the helmet and the Luftwaffe Eagle is highlighted with red as well. The helmet liners is intact and the chinstrap system was cut out probably by the G.I. Est.: $2,000 -$4,000.
